Default FMB Questions

2 questions.

1.Is there a way to speed up the map during testing?

I have events that start at the start of the map rotation and events that happen 1/2 way through.Checking the stuff at startup is not bad but waiting around until half the mission has passed is too time consuming

2.Can you test a map as a human?

I build a portion of the map in the FMB.I then click on play mission to test. But it seems to only show the AI from external and no humans.

This is okay for showing AI placement and whether they fly into the mountains on take off.But it does not show the conflict of AI and human spawn points nor what happens 1/2 way through the mission.

P.S.
I wish to thank all those people that posted information from which I was able to glean bits and pieces to get as far as I have.

I sure wish there was a detailed FMB manual.

Yes. Press the ] key a few times to get up to x16 real time. Press the [ key to slow down play to as slow as x1/4 real time.

Yes. Two methods here.
1. You could click on one of the AI planes properties tab & tick the 'player' box. Untick the box when mission testuing is complete.
2. Right-mouse click on the screen, and select an object you want to view.

I need to be a little clearer on the play as human mode.

What is happening now is the AI spawn and it looks okay when I click on "play mission".However at the same base I have a "spawn area" with a list of available planes for the user to choose when they join the server. These do not show up when I click on "play mission".I have to save the build, exit the FMB,start an mp server and fly the mission. It is then that I find that the human picked planes spawn on top of the AI.

I have moved the airfield(and its spawn points) around but the AI always spawn on the same spot facing the same way.(even though I also change the take off and 1st waypoints.)I have also moved the airdome to outside the coded base perimeter without success.

I realize that clicking the player box will put me in an AI plane that I can fly but that does not help me see when the user planes spawn. Also right clicking the screen and clicking view planes only shows AI.

So is there a way to see in the FMB if the AI and Human picked planes can coexist without leaving the FMB?

There is no multiplayer mode in FMB. So you must host a server to test your mission in multiplayer.

1. Firstly, the game does not play the same in FMB 'play mission' & in server mode. Objects appear in one & not the other. Always test the mission in server mode as you are doing.
2. Changing the position of the spawn icon or the takeoff/1st waypoint will not change where AI spawn or how they takeoff.
3. "So is there a way to see in the FMB if the AI and Human picked planes can coexist without leaving the FMB?" - No. Test in MP server mode.
4. "I have also moved the airdome to outside the coded base perimeter without success." - Sounds like your putting an airfield over a hard-coded airfield. This does not change the spawn points or airfield behaviour. Try just putting a spawn icon only inside the hard coded base.
