Default What must i doo when diving with STUKA?

Hi community,

trying to fly the Stuka, seems to have no problem but after a dive i had an oil leak.
Is there any documentation how to commence a dive in the STUKA? Do i have to open Oil flap or RADIATOR?

Thanks

LC

Sounds like you over rev'ed the engine. Reduce prop pitch in the dive. Dont forget the air brake.

Just follow the "Stuka-mantra"

1. Throttle back, proppitch to coarse
2. Charger from auto to ground
3. If not done already: arm bombs, set release altitude
4. open dive brake
5. trim to neutral
6. close radiator's
7. do not exceed 85° dive angle
8. aim and hold aim until release

a. retract dive brakes
b. throttle up, do not exceed 1.2 ata and 2150 rpm's at all times
c. open rads as needed
d. trim
e. prepare to be shot down by angry hurris/spits
f. if you have to dogfight, flaps to 5°-10° and you can outturn anything
g don't throttle up, you'll kill your engine, keep your meagre speed and try potshots when the attacker has passed

GOOD LUCK!

Default ju87 rads

Do the water rads close fast enough on th 87 so that you can commense the dive before closing the rads ?

It takes like 10 seconds on the 88 to close the rads, if I dive first my engines overcool.

Or do you deploy the dive breaks but wait for the rads to close before diving in robteks 87 notes?

The dive brake extend almost instantly, no worries there. I typically roll over, start the dive, and then deploy the brakes. The rads run off the engine rpm, so they take a bit more time when throttled back. I generally leave them open, but I rarely dive more than 2000m, so depending on how far down you're planning on going, you may or may not need to close the rads up.
