Default Birds of Steel Price Drop!!!

Hey guys,

I just checked the Gamestop website to see if there had been any change in the release date and got a whole other surprise I wasn't expecting. They have reduced the price from $59.99 to $39.99 for a new copy of Birds of Steel!

I saw that the other day and almost pre-ordered it. Might do that in a couple days.

However, i'm still not sure if anybody knows the real release date. Gamestop is saying 3/31 and the latest Game Informer magazine is showing 2/28.

Wish Gaijin or Konami would publish the correct release date already...

I think Play.com is £29.99, but don't take my word for it.

It showed up on Futureshop.ca a few weeks ago at 39.99, I just assumed it was the same everywhere. I'm hoping the price doesn't reflect the quality.

I doubt you need to worry about that StiC! I think it's more likely a marketing thing to help boost sales since flight games are less mainstream then your average shooter. From what I've seen and read from the developers, I have no question that this is more of a way to boost sales than to cheapen the game!

If you find a good price online I'd preorder it now as you can always cancel it. If you find a better deal. Birds of Prey's pre order price actually went up.

Its quite interesting and nostalgic reading though the Preordering stage of Birds of Prey.

I had completey forgoten that the DLC was first a preorder "bonus" in the UK only at Game.co.uk but you had to buy the game for ten pounds more than other shops (ripp off). Maybe this explains why Game.co.uk have yet to list Birds of Steel for pre-order because they are waiting for info on a preorder "bonus".

(I hate pre order "Bonuses". They are not a bonus at all they only replace content that is purposly left out, then everybody else is asked to pay for it as DLC. And even worse unlike the game, that DLC doesn't depreciate and cannot be bought second hand so 505 games is still benifiting from a game that they dumped their support of at launch.)

amazon US lists it now as $39.95... and you can get free shipping if you sign up for their trial offer for their "whatever it is" program. i did that for a month and got the free shipping during christmas and cancelled without any problems....something to consider.

I'm pretty sure you are right. It's just that Apache:AA released at the same price, and even though I enjoyed it, I don't play it anymore. This is probably due to the fact there was no pvp game modes, which we already know BoS will have.
