Default have you seen...

the screenshots from Gaijin Entertainment's upcoming title "World of Planes".. it will feature a cr ap load of planes from wwii including pacific theatre with carriers and all.. the only thing that hits me though is there are only screens of Buffalos P51s and P38s.. Hillarious! Talk about a forced history revisionism; The Pacific War never featured Wildcats and Hellcats

Alexander Vraciu never flew the Hellcat.. he flew a pimped Buffalo
David McCampbell never flew a Hellcat, he flew a carrier operating P38 LMAO
Joe Foss fought valiantly over Guadal Canal in his marine blue.. P51

isn't it great that a company such as "you know which" will succeed to send their historical airplanes into oblivion for spare change

quite comical.

Kids don't learn from reading these days... they learn from computer games and movies...
Can you imagine what a movie company have to pay in order to make a Joe Foss movie?
Thankfully we WILL see the p51 in the new Tuskagee movie...

Ha ha ha. good that one, i think you have reason, but in some militarized hierarchys (i dont know if that company is) if one stupid from above gives an order the rest has to folow... They have more to loose than to whin. Didnt you ever eard: "its not with vinegar that you catch flys" ? I gess they are trying to.

At least we'll see the P51 (or was it a P40), spin like a top. Maybe they had a 'breakdancer' as a director... Imagine the moves one could do..yah!

They aren't much for accuracy... beautiful artistry to be sure but the detailed work that is required for a more sim like experience just isn't there.

well this was not meant as a criticism against World of Planes, I am quite sure it will be a nice title... but rather criticism agaist Grumman et al... looks like their airplanes once again is overseen due to their impossible attitude

Check the last page of screen shots. There's a Wildcat there.

Gaijin just isn't big on accuracy. They do fun and nice visuals and I'm not faulting them there but it's history-lite as far as I can see. D-Day markings on a Mustang operating in the Pacific? That's an easy one.

indeed.. there it was... a wildcat

I wonder when the Northrop Grumman lawyers will show up knocking on the door..

I have Wings of Prey (o which this game is based on . same engine but developed) and I have to say that when flying on "sim" settings the FM is VERY close to IL2.. So even if Clod is a lot more complicated, WoP could be like IL2 original on gfx speed

hmm if I am not mistaken Gaijin bought IL2's FM from Oleg.!?

anyway.. a comparison
