Default How do I reset player stats?

Sorry to have to ask a really dumb question.

When I re-installed the other day, there were obviously some files left from my previous install as CoD picked up my previous stats (the ones you see under the "Extras" option in the main menu).

Is there any way to zero out the stats? I'd really like to start from scratch again if at all possible.

No there is no way. These are steam statistics, if you delete them in ..\appcache\stats, they came back after the next connect to steam.

Can't you stop the steam cache? (Steam Cloud or whatever it is.)

Most of my stats have been messed up for months. Since the first patch, I think. TO's, landings, flight hours, and being killed change, but the number and type of planes shot down is totally hosed, and shots fired/hit is just frozen. Is there anything I can do about that?

Mine's the other way round. According to the "hours played" on the Steam Library page, I've spent about 70 hours in CoD (incl both this install and the original install). Stats page under the ingame "Extras" option says I've spent over 30 hours each in the Spit Ia, Spit IIa and Bf 109E3 and nearly 15 hours in the Hurri (Rotol prop). So that's 105 hours right there...... Although it's completely wrong since I've spent nothing like 30 hours in any of those stated (More like 3 or 4!).

It also says I've killed 4 friendly aircraft when that figure is definitely nil!
