Thumbs up AMD Catalyst 12.1 Preview Drivers

S!

Grab them while hot. New features etc. And these are released by AMD, not a mishmash of drivers. Go take a look HERE.

While not exactly through the roof, I do see a noticeable improvement both in average framerate and microstutters. I think my average fps went up by five to ten.

Why don't you elaborate on what else took a step back? Did you get FPS increase and stutters too? Did you install beta patches and/or do a fresh install recently?

Ha..I'm still on like 11.8 or something, but I should upgrade.

How can everyone see a performance increase..then some guy gets a decrease in performance?

A decrease in performance not in FPS. FPS are in the exact same range, but with the new drivers I have micro stutters that were completely solved until I install them...

What do u want me to say? Lie saying it was good for me also?

Regards.

S!

First of all in CCC I put settings as below and got smoother performance than with previous drivers with same settings...

FSAA: Application Controlled, Morpholigical OFF and Standard filter.
Aniso: Application controlled
Tessellation: AMD Optimized
Catalyst AI: Performance, surface otpimization OFF
VSYnc: ON unless application specifies
FSAA Mode: Multi-sample AA
OpenGL: triple buffering off

Also check under My Digital Flat-Panels -> Properties -> DVI Settings that both Reduce DVI Freq and Alternate DVI are not ticked.

Thanks for the feedback, that's exactly how I use it, with the exception of the DVI settings... I am currently away, but will test as soon I return from a small business trip.

Regards.

I know my every line
It's just a waste of time
Guess it's all such a shame

I've seen it all before
And everytime I'm sure
That it ends up the same

I know the history
got it all worked out

It never happens to me, it never happens to me
(maybe that's the way my life was meant to be)
It never happens to me, it never happens to me
(the door is locked and there's no key)
It never happens to me...
