Default Server list appearing very slowly or not at all - HELP PLS!

Lately it seems to me that the list of servers in "Multiplayer", "Client" is appearing much more slowly than usual. Many times not at all.

Anybody else have this issue? - Is there a work-around?

I get a time-out when I input IP's directly...

Didn't change any parameters in last couple of days and before that it worked like a charm. Have had a few of the usual crashes after running CoD more than two hours, could they have changed some setting I don't know about?

Thx for any help!

I have the same problem, it takes a few minutes to see the servers - same Network settings other than I set ISDN rather than LAN (not that it makes any difference). Probably something to do with Steam but I am guessing.

For ATAG you can use their Direct connect option (see the ATAG thread for more info). I haven't tried this yet.

Same. I re-installed not so long ago, and the servers have been taking ages to appear, until now where they just don't show at all...
Edit: Actually they do appear, they just take ages!

The work around is this.
1. Click on server, set up your machine as a server with all the default options. Start the server.
2. Once its started stop it as quickly as possible to stop the mass unwashed trying to log on to your machine.
3. Click client and log on to the server of your choice.
Don't know why this works, but I have ATAG_Bliss to thank for this one, glad to pass it on. If this works for you post back and let me know.
Cheers,
Boko :screwy:

I experienced this problem yesterday (9 Dec), no serversappearing in list. This persisted for serveral hours. I assumed steam was having problems.
