I was just curious if there is any noticeable distinction between the different factions (countries) infantry. For example, does any particular faction have better infantry than another. They all seem to have the standard infantry and specialized infantry, but do they all pretty much perform the same (ie: Rangers vs. Japanese SNLF)?
Again, Many Thanks, Accipiter |

Yes, for Regular Infantry, U.S. Rifleman are the best with their semi automatic rifles making them lethal at medium to long range. Soviets have the best Sub Machine Gunners due to the high rate of fire of the PPSH making them lethal at short to medium range. Germans have the best Machine Gunners due to their insane rate of fire. and for Japanese SNLF (not regulars) they are much easier to hide than other infantry in the game.

When it comes to the basic infantry they're very similar. Like Spitz mentioned there are differences but positioning pays off more. For advanced infantry they come with some extra bits, like Rangers have satchel charges which are unique compared to the usual dynamite. You can place them and they won't explode until they're hit with something like a grenade.
The best way to figure out all the differences is just to run a game by yourself on high resources. Go through each squads inventory and play about with the weapons. |
