Default Your Most Exciting CLOD Moments

For me it had to be the first Dornier I shot down in a hurricane, spinning round in the evening mist... or it may have been in a lone blenheim ducking and weaving trying to escape from a pack of 109's!

First time ever online and shooting down a fighter the same day. That was short lived then because I started a very long drought. Talk about beginners luck that's it. lol

Surviving a duel with the infamous MrX and getting enough rounds in him to score a part kill, later I went into a foray over Hawking where the guys on ATAG TS were calling for assistance with three BF's working as a group, I got some rounds into one and tried to do a runner feeling smug but Cheesehawk came along a killed me dead. It's been all downhill since then, but hey, things can only get better!

I shot down a whole group of 7 blens with a single 109 once, strafing them like a column of cars

tell me to do it again and i'll get shot down... i tried already another dozen times to do it again...

Online on ATAG being bounced by a 109 in my Spit 1a and managing to evade his attacks and slowly turning the tables, then gettting behind him and give him a good burst that caused a severe fuel leak. He spun while pulling too hard and looking behind me I saw him in a flat spin and the pilot bailed out.

Funny thing is that "XX bailed out" message appeared on the chatbar exactly then but later I saw that "Bf-109 (IA) was destroyed by me" message, so I still don't know if it was a human flown aircraft or not, the way he flew and fought was not like IA at all, but if it was then it shows that IA in this sim can be quite lifelike.

Ricky it was definitely a human player as there are no AI fighters on ATAG at all. That's the way the sim deals with aerial victories - even after the player lands OK, you get a credit for the kill when he despawns, game saying you have killed an AI plane. Weird I know.

EvangelusE - nice one mate!

As for myself - I've had many good fights on ATAG and many exciting moments, long fights agains good pilots are always great fun (both sides). Most exciting was bouncing 2 Emils, shooting them both down in one pass. In a 109, dogfight against 2 Hurricanes and a Spitfire was very demanding, but the 109 is luckily powerful enough to keep the upper hand. Great sim!

I get a kick out of it every time I strap a 110 to my butt and go bombing stuff! In the last few days I have taken out 2 persuing fighters with the bomb blast of an exploding freighter, it is a classic and surprises the crap out of them when their wings fall off for no apparent reason LOL!

The first time I've started the 109's engine, after I've installed the newest patch!

After that the takeoff was nothing to write about and during the rest of the flight I was cursing the game.

A whole generation of pilots learned to treasure the Spitfire for its delightful response to aerobatic manoeuvres and its handiness as a dogfighter. Iit is odd that they had continued to esteem these qualities over those of other fighters in spite of the fact that they were of only secondary importance tactically. Thus it is doubly ironic that the Spitfire’s reputation would habitually be established by reference to archaic, non-tactical criteria.
