I recently threw together a skin for Sea hurricanes.
But the more i looked at it the more the colors just didnt look right. I have changed them using a different RAF color chart, and I think Im closer, but still not sure. What do you think? This: ![]() ![]() Or this? ![]() ![]() Personally Im leaning toward the second one. The Sky looks closer to pics Ive seen of flying Hurricanes, and the top colors seem to be a bit more subdued, more natural almost. So which one is closest? ![]()

Im not so sure.
I wish there was a standardized reference for colors, but alas... For sure the Sky color for the underside is closer to accurate, so I have top assume that the others are too. Would still love to hear more informed opinions.

Hi CWMV
For accurate Colour Swatches go to SimmersPaintShop[link below]. This list is for U.K Aircraft Colours. Look at box to the right of the colours called "Usage" and this will tell what this colour was used for. There are a few FAA Colours listed so this may help. To import into Gimp or Photoshop either use Colour picker or what I do is highlight and Copy the "Hex" value [to the left of colour] and Paste into "HTML_notation" Box in the Paint Toolbox of Gimp[or similar in Photoshop] http://www.simmerspaintshop.com/page-RGB-colors-UK.html Regards Keith ![]() |
