Tonight's feature is "First of the Few". Made in 1942 it is a story about Supermarine and has some great footage from the time. It's not all fly around-n-shoot'em up...but gives a history of how things supposedly transpired. Of course this is the Hollywood...or the UK Hollywood take so you know they have to throw a chick in there for love interest. It's 1 hour and 54 minutes longand is best viewed in full screen. So with no further babble..on with the show...

OK its not a "movie" per say.... but home movies . Stuart Sumner..son of Cahrles Sumner...C5-Z "Bat Cave" came up with this today. seems a couple of the guys from the 357th had 8mm cameras and filmed life in Leiston, Suffolk as they saw it back in 44/45....added to it is some gun camera footage. Look, these are home movies....boys being boys ( unless you are looking for certain things or people...sigh/yawn haha)...and some of film was transferred to the high tech media of VHS first ( probably on a blinding fast pentium 133)...then to DVD, so parts are sketchy (esp part 2). but you will see some interesting things if you hang through it. a 51 belly lands @ Leiston...a burning 17 makes an emergency landing there...a RAF spit visits...a 51 catches a Do335...some decent gun camera footage. there is some actual footage of the planes you may have only seen in the books and pics...and some of the men who flew them and crews who kept them in the air. at the 2.37 minute and 2.58 minute mark of the second part you will see a skinny ass boy, first wearing a hat with the brim flipped up and then in full flight gear and a crusher hat walk past with a $#!t eating grin....boys, meet my dad. if you can sit through it...its kinda worth it. if you get too bored...like i said they are home movies...next weeks episode is all about Blenheims. (edit...dont know why this didnt fix the images...???)
