Default You say half empty I say half full

For every post that says the prop pitch is fixed, there is a post that says it is still broken..

For every post that says the cockpit reflections are back, there is a post that says they are still missing..

For every post that says stutters are gone, there is a post that says stutters are still there..

For every post that says FPS have increased, there is a post that says FPS have decreased..

etc..
etc..
etc..

So what can we conclude from all this?

That PCs come in as many different flavors as people's opinions!

That and there is a good chance that we have exceeded the 'general' populations ability to 'configure' their PC for gaming.

What with all the hardware and software options at their disposable it is no wonder some people 'feel' they are getting better or worse FPS due to INSERT YOUR EXCUSE/REASON HERE.

Which in and of itself would not be a 'bad' thing!

But combine that with most peoples lack of patients and sound byte attention span and it is no wonder why the 'GAME BOXES' have done so well over the past five years.

I know the few PC software game makers left have to wonder why they still bother with PCs.

And looking at some of the posts in this forum I would not blame them for canning the whole PC gaming market and focusing on the GAME BOX market.

It would be a sad day, but I fear it is only a mater of time.

I say sad because one of the ways I justify buying a new PC every year and a half is that I need to keep current with PC hardware and software for what I do at work.. but that little voice inside my head knows the real reason I do it!

My PC is a "cheap" one, with a now "outdated" AMD CPU, cheap mobo and memo, and a middle end VGA. And I can run Cliffs of Dover like this:

I can use my hardware and configure my software, do cheap upgrades to achieve the performance needed, and i'm not a computer expert...

This sim is GREAT! If you can't enjoy it, it's not so hard to fix things...

Just watched LoBiSoMem's video, his system is basically the same as mine and he has the same micro stutters that most seem to have in all the videos that I have watched.

Luthier, the problem is not going to go away until it is fixed.

Cheers

Rick

AMAZING!

And all this with "RC" flight model, limited damage model, limited elevation data for terrain, invisible trees...

Please, don't even try this...

I have "micro stutters" only in loading map points (02:13 in this video, near Parliament), as EVERBODY have in ArmA 2 and even in Il-2 1946...

"Micro stutters"... Please, change the record! What we have in FIRST RELEASE of CloD was MASSIVE stutters due to texture streaming. Now the sim is NORMAL regards performance!

Yes, trees that kill you when you fly into them. Elevation data in FMB. That and more with just 256 mb 8600GT baby!!! No overclocking or reduced settings required.

The two naysayers in this topic really makes ACE-OF-ACES points valid...

I'm out of here, these naysayers are really sick... A lot of CloD "problems" people can see now:

- One guy whats to run CloD in a 256 mb 8600GT;

- Another saw "micro stutters" in normal gameplay...

Run to the hills!
