Default Trackir 5

So my older version of Trackir (#2) stopped working the other day. Was going to upgrade a while back but while my older version still worked why bother.

Does the Trackir 5 cause any FPS hit to the game? If so, is it minimal (say 3-5 fps) or is it a hog ( 10-15 fps)?

I have to get it anyway, ordering it next week, I am just curious as I may need to tweak my graphics and cards even more finely than I do now.

Thanks in advance for any advice and/or help.

Works great. You won't have any regrets.

No framerate hit that I can detect. I have a joystick button assigned to toggle it on & off (usually for precise aiming, sometimes for take offs & landings) and there is no change in framerate when I turn TrackIR5 on/off.

I mapped also the centering key F12 on the joy because Clod uses to lose centre very often. Other than that no framerate loss.

I mapped the centering (F12) button on the on the joystick for precision shooting. Works outstanding especially with the 109. Great !!!

Thank you gents, looking forward to be able to keep up in a dogfight when I get my new 5 pro.

Mostly attacking bombers now in MP..lol. Getting into a scuff with the enemy fighters without Trackir is just hell to keep eye on target and your nose out of the ground. Using the hat switch on the stick gets annoying not to mention its hard on the eyes...very fast movement.
