New rig advice

My old computer has finally died & it's time to invest in a new rig. I'd like to move from IL2-1946 to COD and would value any feedback, especially if anyone has experienced any issues with any of the following hardware/configuration.

- Antec Nine Hundred Two V3 (Version 3) Case (No PSU - USB3.0 port and bottom-Mounted 2.5" SSD Support)
- Corsair HX-650 650W Power Supply Unit
- G.Skill 8GB (2 x 4096mb) DDR3 2133MHz PC17000 F3-17000CL9D-8GBXM RAM Module Kit
- Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD4 Intel Z68 Chipset Socket 1155 Motherbard
- Gigabyte nVidia Geforce GTX580 3072mb 3GB PCI Express Graphics Card GV-N580UD-3GI
- Intel Core i7 2600K Quad Core 3.4Ghz Socket 1155 CPU (8mb Cache, Integrated Graphics)

Hi Salmo,

Your proposed rig looks great, including that hefty 3-Gig GTX580 card. The only thing I could point to is the 650 watt Corsair PSU. it should be adequate for the rig you're putting together, but may become a limiting factor for future hardware upgrades or additions. For relatively little extra cost you may wish to consider a 850 watt unit or better. However, that is not a deal breaker by any means -- I'm green with envy over the setup you've listed. Good luck!

I agree with snapper on the PS.....
I would add for your consideration,
a faster storage drive, 7200 rpm....
Other than that....that should be an
outstanding rig....

Everything looks sweet to me...Im running on a 500w powersupply so i dont see that corsair being a problem..however as Pudfark says, for a bit extra you could future proof your rig

Your GSkill Ram...That is not the native speed is it? is that an overclocking option for your board? If so are you keeping your CPU at stocks speeds?

Fyi the new chipset AM3+ boards are available with some serious onboard sound..have you got a sound card? and the AMD Bulldozer Hexicore is on its way too

Very solid rig.
But I will agree that a bit bigger PSU and and a 7200RPM HDD are smart things to consider. I am a big Seagate fan for HDD's but I went with WD Caviar Blacks this round and they are prolly the best 7200RPM drives going so I will throw that into the ring.

Snapper - I did have some concerns about the 650W PSU, but the retailer has assured me it will be adequate. A 750W PSu may give me a little more room to move.

Pudfark - RAM is not motherboard overclocked, the Ripjaw RAM model comes already overclocked http://www.gskill.com

LT.INSTG8R - I'll consider a 7200 rpm HDD. Thought I'd but the OS & perhaps often used software on the SDD.
