Hi All,
I'm looking to upgrade my GFX card from a GTX 260(216) to either; Ati 6950 2Gb or Nvidia 560ti (OC to 900Mhz) I just want the best fps for the money and these cards are the same price from my supplier. Which one is better for IL2 Cod?

I updated from my 9800GTX which was virtually unplayable to one of Overclockers ATI 6950 2gb, its a VTX brand and i now run everything on High except for buldings detail and buildings amount which is set to medium i also run grass, shadows and roads as well and get around 30fps at takeoff and just after and a good 50fps up high in a dogfight or 45ish fps against bombers and its super smooth with no stutters and very playable. Post Beta i have lost around 5fps. Havent tried the Nvidia card so can't help there but i am well chuffed with this card for the price
![]() Rest of my set up is AMD 965 quad core processor 8gb ddr2 800 ram Fatality sound card 750 watt Overclockers own power supply (you need two 6 pin connectors for this card) One thing that has happened since i got this card is that when i play Bad Company 2 and initially join a game i get a 20 second freeze then its ok for the rest of the time. |

Thanks ever so much for your posts guys, its really appreciated.
You answered all of my questions. Tomorrow I'm gonna go for the Vtx 6950 2gb as I have managed to find it for just under 190 quid, at my local supplier. |

I have a 560Ti 2gb running everything on max and haven't had a problem, the lowest fps I've had flying is down low over London with fps at 28-35. TC

Anyways I've been happy with my 6950 2GB. Runs smoothly since couple of patches ago. Gotta try max settings next time I play. ![]() |

People with modern hardware who cant run it on max (more or less) is doing something wrong. Dont ask me what though. |

I have the 6950 2gb and I can't really fault it. It runs COD with everything maxed out perfectly fine (except with the new beta, having a few stutters now). I haven't had a problem with it (touch wood, obviously) since I got it and I can't see a need to replaced it save for some sort of catastrohpic failiure. I only got it because it was slightly cheaper than the Nvidia, which was already more than I ought to be spending anyway.

Why haven't you asked us the other night Nitrous? Cancel that order FFS.
560Ti all the way. The ATI cards pump the heat and absolutely scream. You had better buy some ear defenders with it. |

Got to disagree there really, mine runs at 33 degrees unloaded and 56 degrees after an hour of CLOD and is no louder than the processor fan and the case temp never goes much over 36 degrees
