I was poking around in the game files and found this interesting entry in the plane file
PHP Code:
It's a file for displaying the plane names in the selection menu and also for the plane icons. Although there's no flight model or .msh file for the planes, it looks like MG plan to incorporate up to the Emil 7B in Cliffs of Dover. Maybe they didn't get them ready in time for the last patch. It's not definitive proof, and some of you may have already guessed that they will add some more Messerschmitts, but I thought I'd share it with you anyway ![]() |

No doubt the game is layed out to accomodate future content, not only more Me's. Just look through the keyassign list in game, there are such things as extend tail hook. Maybe a hint for a future pacific campaign?
Somewhere in the forum I read also that the next expansion will go to the eastern front, maybe Operation Barbarossa?, to incorporate soviet aircraft. |

It'd be good to have the full collection someday.
![]() I don't understand why there is a Bf 109 E-7/B model. To my understanding the main addition with the E-7 variant was a mounting point for drop tanks which could also hold bombs as well? |

![]() Yeah I liked the F's and the E's they just were great planes for IL-2 1946 I like the F's in Il-2, the 15 mm wasn't quick enough to kill (like the 20 or 30mm nose ones) but that was just fun to fly. I remember reading somewhere the Luftwaffe have the F's with 15mm nose cannon ones late BOB. |

F2s arrived at front line units during spring 1941. But the LW continued with fighter sweeps and jabo attacks at a lower intensity than the BoB, so it would certainly fit in with the map and RAF plane-set.

Actually there was no such thing as a "Bf 109 E-7/b" since the stock E-7 incorporated the ETC attachment of the E-1/b, E-3/b and E-4/b into the production process (and added the necessary plumbing for a droptank). The /b suffix simply denoted a modification for the earlier Emils that enabled them to carry an ETC and a bombload.
As for the Friedrich Stab/JG 51 received a number in October 1940 (Bf 109 F-1 with MG FF/M as central cannon) for frontline tests. Werner Mölders claimed a kill on October 25 as the first kill ever to be claimed by a Bf 109 F. |

F-1's saw actual service and action towards the end part of BOB, and I believe recorded some kills. I'll be disappoint if we don't see the F-1.
