Need some help in getting the throttle working properly (Saitel X52). I can't get any WEP in the Spit 1a. RPM stays at just over 2000 with throttle at max. I played around with the control settings but nothing is working.

You have to use the "boost cut, out" command first!
Than you are able to get 110% Throttle input ( on the digital info window, if you have set such window!) I have set my x52 to get 100% on the second barrier. If i have disabled the boost cut, when I push the x52 'through the gate' i get 110%, and only than! In german planes you just need the emergency power button. |

So that don't work. Boost cut-out command defaulted on aircraft key commands to letter "T". Still only getting 2300 rpm max. No WEP. Throttle at max position.
Set up for throttle though? Enable the "Reverse" option to the right? I've played around with the below and can't get any response. 0% POSITION? 0% DEAD ZONE? 100% POSITION? 100% DEAD ZONE? MAX% DEAD ZONE? |

How about setting the proppitch to fine? That'll do the trick.
If cem is disabled you'll fly with coarse pitch, hard to get high rpm's then.

and, at least in my very limited experience in the Spitfire Mk.Ia, the boost (110%) has no influence on the manifold pressure and engine rpm in this plane....

Complex engine management disabled (for now), just trying to get the feel of everything. For one brief fleeting moment I had WEP but the next sortie it went away again. Don't no what happened to get it or what I did to get it. But it made a difference. This is frustrating.

in the current state of the game, you cant get (IIRC) higher rpm in the Spit without enabled CEM !
the propeller is automaticly setting to coarse....................... Give CEM a try, perhaps let engine overheat disabled if you want. But flying without CEM is without sense in the moment IMHO. And it is BY FAR not as complex as one is thinking , espacially with overheat off ![]() |

So, ..... turned on the CEM and as you stated things started to work. WEP is there now when needed. Engine Temperature disabled, so no worries there. Adjusted a few other keys for engine management and everything seems to be on the up and up after a few test flights. Now I can go for a Burton legitimately.

Which is the 'new' features called '0% POSITION' and 100% 'POSITION' where both default to 0.00 The problem is the 100% POSITION should default to 1.00!! not 0.00!! Set it to 1.00 and you will be good to go Start with this 0% POSITION = 0.00 0% DEAD ZONE = 0.00 100% POSITION = 1.00 100% DEAD ZONE = 0.00 MAX% DEAD ZONE = 0.00 Than you can play with the 'dead zones' settings if you want But I would leave the 'position' settings alone for now, they are for advance stuff that you may not even need Last edited by ACE-OF-ACES; 08-03-2011 at 12:41 AM. |
