Can anyone here who is running the latest euro patch version of the game confirm for me that they have EXTERIOR mussel flash and smoke when viewing the firing of weapons from outside the aircraft ?

There are gun flashes and smoke for every gun figther or bomber planes.
I think it depens on the resolution and details settings of the game (logical is it not?).
