Default 109 propeller wont spin

Hello, Im completely new to CoD and I have a problem with setting up the engine start up, I have all settings right, p-pitch, fuel cock on..
But I cannot start up the engine, always when I push the button, nothing happens.. What could cause this problem?

Thanks for answers.. I really want to play this game!

First of all make sure you actually have a key assigned to engine start in the controls menu.

you need a LITTE bit of throttle for engine start, if you have enabled a digital infowindow, 10% throttle is a good setting.

It only requires to toggle the fuel switch (in cockpit, the white knob to the left, right under where the front of the hood meets the side) and then press engine start to get it running. Do not forget the oil cooler then. Having a bit of gas helps, but is not always nessecary in my expirience.

Surely if you're using CEM (for the fuel cock) you'll need to switch the magnetos on as well?

I don't fly the 109 often but I'd use:

1: Fuel cock to on
2: Magnetos to on (position 2 of 0/1/2 I think)
3: Throttle to about 5% (2-3 taps of the + key for me)
4: Ignition ('I' key)

Not sure if it'll make any difference as the 109 only has one engine, but instead of selecting engine one, try selecting 'all engines' (shift ` for me) if the above still doesn't work.

Full CEM startup videos for nearly all the aircraft (made by a helpful community member) can be found here:

Good luck!

you dont have to switch on magnetos manually, even with full CEM on. They are set automaticly 'on' as as soon you hit "engine ignition".

the only sense for me for using magnetos so far is for stopping an engine. But you can also use the fuel cock for that.

So it does, you're right. I've always switched them on manually - this must have occurred in one of the patches and passed me by... I know for a fact I couldn't get the Tiger Moth off the ground initially because I didn't know the magnetos were outside the cockpit!

The problem ain't the settings, the problem is that when I press "i" it wont even try igniting the engine.

Yeah, I chose my Joystick button 1 to start key, and doesn't work, I installed the key again, used steam cloud and deleted controlls, its ready soon.. So going to try out in a minute!
