Ignoring Threads
Hi, does someone know if there's a way to edit what you see on the forum, IE there's a lot of negative or argumentative threads I don't wish be part of but every time someone posts it comes up as unread. It would be nice to be able to delete or mark it with a reminder/warning not to open.

Thanks for you help Nearmiss. I didn't want to totally ignore certain people because sometime even the most painful people have something that's actually useful to say, it's the negative threads (some will say "like this one") I'd like to get rid of on my own viewer.

I think that may be a little too subjective to ask of a computer..

my sig i think says it all for me, but just curious ...... (this is an actual question and not a stab)
Don't you find though that hearing people actually respond in the manner in which they would actually respond gives you the most accurate and all around knowledge on a given subject? for instance if a topic was brought up in a room of people and you got nothing but negative childish and asinine responses to the topic it may tell you very important things about the room of people and the topic 1. The topic was worth responding too in most peoples opinion in the room, that might tell you that its a topic that even its naysayers deemed worth talking about. 2. The results of the topic drew a mostly negative response from the room, This may tell you that the largest portion of your group found more things negative about the topic rather than positive. 3. you may actually be standing in a room of children and teens while talking about famous poets and philosophers in history (hence the negative response) or in other words the topic may be so polar opposite to the group it was presented too that there may have been no other likely response. I guess my point is I find that censuring my self from anything that exists in the world I.E. opinions, jokes, movies E.T.C. doesn't make them not exist, but instead it deprives me of the chance to really figure out why people say and act the way they do. And then still make my own judgements using all of the input available to me I an not a religious person at all and have no belief in a god and such but some of my best friends are the most religious people you would ever meet. I am just fascinated as to how they could believe in such nonsense (my opinion) and I love to sit and listen to even the most ridiculous things that come out of there mouths to try and figure out how they tic. plus at any given moment it allows what they say to either bolster my own personal belief or to find unexpected logic in it and change my own view. just curious as to what you thought Cheers. |

I have a dream; that one day Nearmiss or any other mod will create a misc forum where they put all the...
- Please luthier, a small friday update about progress? - Waste of money - Quit complaining.....now - Ignoring Threads - Sigh......... - Devs - No more support? - Luthier, July 19th Patch ...and such threads. That way I can have direct shortcuts to the other forums that talk about interesting aspects of this game. |

Bryan, I totally agree. I only asked if it was possible for me on my own PC to edit what to read. I'm interested in peoples opinions and love a joke. I also find a lot of the advice very helpful. What I dislike is the same people saying the same thing over and over, insulting other peoples intelligence race or ability. The biggest thing at the moment is harping on about bugs. Sure report a problem then be patent. It will be fixed. Maybe having a page just for complaints will clear the forum back to a more friendly and helpful place.
