Default Black death track 14413 test...

Here is my test after applying Patch 14413 over last official patch (very first attempt of beta-patching)
Tested only black death track.
Major stuttering definitely gone, some minor in transition from scenes more populated then others and vice versa, quite smooth generally.
Absolutely no system crashes, error logs etc as previous official patches and vanilla version.
Flikering trees shadows still persistent, sound corrupted in playback, in the 110's attack @ airport some bombs bounce away after hitting ground.
No graphic artifacts at all.
In this test I tried a variation of Texture quality, forest density, Vsync and land shading. As u can see results are quite similar; forest off doesent improve nothing! Very strange.
Min and max values are uninfluent to judging this test, cause highest value are mostly registered with scenes unpopulated (1 aircraft and an empty sky or over sea), min value in transitions, with explosions or when I switch on fps recorder.
In normal scenes the frame rate goes in 17-30 fps in all settings variation indiscriminately +-3/4 frames per second.
Vsync on off: I'm not able in judging the difference if working or not in terms of image quality. How should it appears with on? No apparent difference 4me.
Alot must be done for CloD to be what It should be but playable 4me.

Hi pupaxx,
Your system is much more powerful than mine and it appears from the resolutions that you are running that you probably have a 24" monitor (mine is only 19" with a top of 1440 x 900 running @ 1280 x 960). from what I have read you wont need much AA when running at high resolutions as there won't be much notable difference. lowering the resolution from what I understand will give an improvement in fps at the expense of picture quality. Certainly if I turn AA on ( x2 ) I dont notice any diference in picture but there is a fps hit. The more of us that can share information on settings the better as it will help us all, especially if we can post system information as well. I can't even get "black death track" to run with any smoothness at all on my system (every thing is down at under 12--14fps). I do still have some micro stutters but certainly not enough to stop me enjoying this sim (mainly when down low over land).

Just wish "omgclod" would tell us if he has this sim and is having trouble, maybe we could take some of his frustration away by helping with his set up.

Hi oddball,

The "Black Death Track" is similar to the track of the same name found in the earlier Il2 series. It is a test to see how well your system will handle the graphic settings.

It can be found once you are into the game: -

Extras\Tracks\select

Once in there select"The Black Death.trk" then "Open".
It will then play as a recorded track

It is a standard that everyone can compare. It is repeatable every time.Hence you can judge the effect of changing settings.

It severely challenges the best of systems. So as long as everyone uses the same settings you can get a good idea of where you stand.
