Hosting dedicated server ..

.. I have my copy to play (at home) i've uploaded files to my remote pc to host dedicated server (is it legal ?) I have serveral times a day "Server ogt logged out of Steam, Exiting" Maybe I Hve to buy another copy of game for my remote pc ?
