Default Seriously, need help! Fresh install of Windows 7 Ultimate and I get this...

This is not Cliffs of Dover related, but this is a Technical Issues thread and I hope someone can please, please help!!!

I am trying to type the British Pound Symbol, if I type the British Pound Symbol I get this £ (before I post it)

However, when it is posted on other forums it looks like this ?

If I hold shift down and go across the top of the numbers I get this:

!"£$%^&*()_+

However what I see when it is posted is the pound symbol replaced with a ?

What the hell can I do to resolve this?

I have checked my View/ Character Encoding and it is set to Unicode (UTF-
but still, every post I make gives me a ? instead of a Pound £

Can anyone help? It is an issue on some sites, not others (as you can see here?

Cheers, MP

Have you checked the keyboard setting, on OS level?

Yes, I have a sad feeling that this is to do with website coding rather than my keyboard and OS. I am set for UK region and I can post £ on this site, but it appears that some other sites aren't using 'good' coding.

As-long as the £ sign works when it should, it has to be down to the html coding (I read somewhere else), calming down now...... thought I'd need another install!

Cheers, MP
