Screen Res and performance
I installed at 1280 X 720 on a widesecreen (same as desktop) and just goodenough for channel dogfights.
Changed my monitor to 4 x 3 and changed desktop to 1024 x 768, ammended cnfg to match - launched game and crashed to desktop. Re-launched and now loads but fps unplayable. There is something amiss here with screen res and changing it ..... |

Criticism is pointless now anyway, time to wait for new patch, then we will see how things go... |

The strange thing is that it runs better in widescreen at higher res than 4 x 3 in lower res.....
Swapping over to a 4 x3 monitor with lower res setting, I have a choice of resolutions in video options menu but FPS drops and 'Mirrors' no longer toggle but simply stop updating the view in them. In wide screen only one resolution is shown, better fps and the mirrors dissappear when toggled. |

No, CRT is the best for combat simulation. LCD is the crap for such game. the best selection is SONY FW900.

I think you haven't seen yet Il2 cod on a 42 inches LED screen...you'd cry like a baby.

I went from 1920x1080 with 1x AA and slightly low FPS when looking forwards in the cockpit to 1600x900 supersilky smooth with 4x AA Can I tell the difference, yes... Does it matter when I get smooth gameplay? No!
Flying over land now with mid/high settings is also a breeze! |
