Default Could western Cod be Modded with Russian files???

Just an idea, I have no idea if this is possible or even needed, However with all this talk about the western Cod getting the epilepsy filter that wont be able to be turned off, and the Russian version having the filter removed and the sim being as it is meant to be.

Would it be possible to mod the offending epilepsy files in the western version with the Russian fixed one. Its just an idea, but apart from the filter and the language I guess the sim is the same in both countrys, and therefore the programming and files should be the same. Surely all we have to do to get the western version running without any of this Epilepsy filter stuff is to copy over the offending files with the unfiltered russian ones.

Im no programmer or modder, So I have no idea if this is possible, but hey we have nothing to lose by trying right.

We don't know that the filter will not be turned off in the western version. Maybe it will.

Salute

It seems at this point the simplest solution is to wait for the English version to come out, then take the language files from it and add them to the Russian version.

ok at the moment we dont, But all indications are looking that way with Ubi being the publisher,

Please dont get this thread wrong, Im not complaining about the filter again,
But just trying to find a sensible way to get the best possible expeirence out of the sim. Of course nothing will be known for another few days when until the western version starts being loaded up.

The devs have stated they will eventually remove the filter but only once all the individual offending features have been removed/disabled/modified. This work may include modifying the appearance of explosions, muzzle flash, propellor arc etc.

I'm a programmer and I'm pretty certain that once this work is complete there will be no way to reintroduce the original features through hacks...unless the source code was available.

If the (resource hogging) global ep filter was left in place then a simple hack could probably switch it off for good. However, this will become impossible once the multiple fixes have been applied to the problem areas (read everywhere!).

Darn, thats a shame, ah well it was just an idea anyway, However with the great news that the Epilepsy patch is becoming optional on the western version as well, Fingers crossed we need an idea like this anyway.
