Default RCU files and consol commands

I've stumbled over an interesting thread on another board on how, with the correct use of the appropriate use of consol commands and the RCU file; one can could, for instance make a one button start up script which will unfold the wings, start the engine, det trim and mixture settings, set icons etc. etc.

It sounds an interesting idea I'd like to explore, but it's an old thread and all the ressources such as Shturmovik.de are on longer on line.

Any one have any live links to any good ressources on this subject? A list of consol commands and their execution, perhaps?

I've got my RCU file set to choose my favourite icon settings every 60secs for when I'm playing offline (because it gets reset at the start of every mission for some reason, so I just make it repeat every 60s so that by the time I need them they're already set), but unfortunately my main PC has been absolutely screwed for ages so I can't really give you 100% accurate details of how it works. As far as I'm aware you just need to add a line in your RCU file that says @file whatever.whatever, then create a text file that you save as whatever you chose to put after @file which consists of the lines of console commands that you want, but I can't remember a) how you separate the commands, probably a semi-colon or b) any other commands than the obvious mp_dotrange settings. But anyway, that's the gist of it, you can find a list of console commands here. For you I suspect that the relevant bits will be the part about the hotkey and EXEC commands and the line "Commands can be found also in the settings.ini file in the IL2\Users folder ", which refers more specifically to commands in the sense of actual game actions. Hope that helps.

Default Any answers?

I found a cute script from Baldiejnr which gives flashing nav lights:

@hotkeycmd EXEC toggleNavLights
@timeout 900 hotkeycmd EXEC toggleNavLights
@timeout 2500 f nl.cmd

Cut and paste the above into a text file and save it as "nl.cmd" in your main IL2 folder.

Call it in flight by opening the console and typing "nl", enter and close console.

It's quite neat, and I intend to hack my squad CO and force it on him, I'm fed up of following the wrong Spit!

But not until I can find a way to turn it off..

Any answers?
