Default what does your user name mean?

we have such an eclectic group here and your user names intrigue me. what made you pick that specific name? part of your real name, something in history, something silly, what?? tell us the story behind your names...i think they will all be interesting ( even if you dont think yours is...it is)!

I'll start. there were singers in the 30s and 40s that all the young girls in the states used to swoon over. part of these teenage girls "attire" were a type of socks know as bobbysocks. the singers whom these girls adamantly followed were thus dubbed as bobbysocks singers or bobbysocksers. frank sinatra, when he started out was one of these. when my father was 18 and joined the usaaf he was a skinny little fart and somewhat resembled sinatra ( although he never could see the resemblance). so someone bestowed the name Bobbysocks on him and it stuck. so when i started flying ww2 ac online i felt it appropriate to use that as a game tag.

who's next??

Nice topic bobby. Mine comes from a friends I used to work with (we were both huge Star Wars fans). I am a tall guy and used to yawn very loudly at my desk in the office. My yawn apparently sounds like Chewbacca so I soon got the nickname. We used to play Halo 1 on xbox at LAN parties and tournaments and my nickname became my user name.

Default good topic

my id comes from the racing game mashed. i insisted on using the black car "shadow" and in multiplayer games with my friends i won from the most unlikely of circumstances, they insisted the game was conspiring to let me win and dubbed me shadow corp (corp short for corporation)... i do miss mashed things were simpler then.

It's my name! Or certainly part of it. Kinda stuck from childhood and how I'm now known both in business and personal life. So much so even my family use it. The additional on my psn is just because I can be!!!!

Sgt Fury was a character that featured in the war comics I used to read as a kid, mid 1960's. (no ageist jokes please!).
This was at a time when the PC brigade did not exist & such comics would not be allowed today!
Madmax is an Aussie hero of mine!

ok mine comes from when I used to play Project Gotham racing 2 on the old xbox with a good group of friends and It was around the same time as the old Pope Jean Paul II was on his last legs, it was all over the news all the time but he just kept on living and it was gettin a bit boring. So we were messing around on pgr2 when someone joked how maybe the vatican had found a way to keep him alive forever. So then I went into the old xbox's voice masks (remember them lol) selected ROBOT and in a monotone voice said "I am the Robotic Pope!" It must have sounded pretty funny because they were laughing for minutes and we all selected robot voices and told jokes. It was too funny lol. Anyway when i got a xbox 360 I needed a new gamertag so I chose that so my friends would know its me and remember past good times.

My name is my nickname. I'm burdened with a surname that nobody can pronounce or spell but it has a winny sound in it so that's what everyone hooks on to. Except when I was an Air cadet when at my first role call the corporal couldn't pronounce my surname and said 'er.. Fred' so I was called Fred for 4 years.. When people use my real name it takes a second or 2 for me to realise it's me they are talking to.
