Default How to train

Hello all
just started and have not found anything in the manual on how to train my pirates ARGH!!

What, exactly, do you want them to do? I mean, 'training' isn't something you generally do with your troops. I guess you could with the new patent officer get some trophies and train pirates into sea dogs? Maybe?

Is that what you mean?

with the first companion - it indicates he trains - how is that useful and how is it done?

Click (or was it right click) on his portrait in your hero screen. It just turns certain pirates into a higher level type. Like pirates to sea dogs.
