Default Request for Servers Setting for Online Coop Missions

Since this does not fall on the category of "holy $%IT did that just happened" ideas, and the thread to make requests and suggestions about Sow BoB locked, i decide to make it in a new post.

I´m writing this without knowledge of what we will have available on SoW Bob, but assuming that we can make a mission with custom skins, custom sounds and maybe custom images for briefing or special objects inside the mission, i would like that the sim check on online coop missions that every player have installed all the files necesary for the mission. And give the host player, by the use of a checkmark, the possibility to not allow players to fly the mission if they dont have previously installed all the files (skins, sounds, and so on) used on the mission.
Of course if its viable, and does not require too much coding and work.

I make this remembering the times on my squad i prepared online campaigns and missions, searching carefully the real skins for every aircraft and making packages for download for everyone for several days, so we could all see and play the mission with the real skins. But always there was someone that didn´t visit the forum, when it should, and therefor didn´t installed the skins, forcing to not allow skin download (because of lag problem) which cause you could not see the skin each aircraft had, with the exception of the host.
Boy i got pissed of because of that!

Sounds like you want IL-2 to do a checksum BEFORE the mission actually launches??

I doubt you will ever see something like that....but you can always ask.

Hi

It has to be easier to have pilots register at your forum and then post in the relevant section with skins and all "necessary files" for the mission, they then post in the thread to confirm files are installed.

When you host the mission, all those not registered and confirmed in the thread they have the "mission pack" installed, are not allowed to fly the mission till they have done so.

Controlling the mission file requirements within SoW would be a nice feature, but should remain the responsibility of the pilots wanting to join the mission, as ultimately if they don't have the files, they still have to go to your forum to get them.

Yes, but i consider it too late for il-2 and also i don´t make missions anymore for that sim, so i made the request for SoW, for which i´m sure i will make missions.
