Assault Squad is just a fundraiser MoW mod for DMS to make their own new game like MoW. Won't be getting it.

Let's just say it is more than a mod, it is almost what MoW should be. And even if it is a fundraiser game, I will get it knowing this way the game may evolve into what SHOWW2 should have been.

Gotta agree with Korsakov, as more info comes out, i can see this is essentially just a big mod/addon for MP and not much else.

For those of us who favor SP, it seems to offer even less than the original MoW. No missions or campaign at all, unless i'm mistaken?

Don't get me wrong, it's deffinitely impressive work. But you can tell the focus has always been on MP, and I can see why it's exciting to the MP crowd, more content is always appreciated, keeps the game alive and fresh. But in terms of the game itself, it's more or less the same game but with a bunch of new weapons/units/maps and not much else.
I haven't heard any real details on the "improved AI" and i can't see any improvements judging from the vids presented so far.

The only thing that had me interested was the Skirmish, but i'm not sure that would have such a long life span.
Though to be fair, i didn't expect Skirmish to be an easy thing to add which is why i figure 1C hadn't done it themselves yet.

But all that being said, from what i've seen on these forums and elsewhere on the net, it appears AS is going to be a success, and that's good - Anything that gains more attention to the MoW series is a plus in my books.

So, a congrats in advance to DMS and others involved but personally i'll keep waiting for Vietnam.

Too bad Vietnam will have only coop mode beside the campaign. Maybe the next project for Men of War could be the Cold War era with sp/coop campaign, skirmish and a load of multiplayer like we are used to MoW:Vanila or Assault Squad.
Btw, if you haven't tyed it yet, i highly recomend to you to try the open beta here.

Then a modern fictional war with China, Russia, European Union, US and some terrorists in Tom Clancy stile.
