" Cannot view video mode" start up error

Im able to play Red tide fine, but when I try to start up Men of War I get past the first few ads and my monitor displays "Cannot view video mode". Ive downloaded the game off of steam, and have been communicating with 1c support and all they tell me to is to update my drivers. Which ive done. Is there anything else i can do? Would the dvd version have the same results?
Any tips would be GREAT!
