stuck in Elio

when I got mastiff, ternie and I have to go to Elio system to ask a friend of her to fix the mothership's ID. However, he told us that his son hadn't arrived at the Hope Mine and we are required to find his son. When I tried to get out of Elio, the mothership blowed, but I do not know where in Elio to find his son Matt.
Could anyone give me a hint? Thank you!

Mission may still be completable... but you have definatly picked the wrong choice.

Remember that transport convoy you let the pirates kill? Saving it would make your life a whole lot easier.

I'm unable to dock with Grid Station, any ideas?
I'm not much of a script editor, so can't really help there.

Please don't post in the bug reports thread until you're sure it is a bug - try reloading from previous saves etc. The script isn't entirely foolproof and can sometimes break, which a reload from an earlier save can often fix - but it's not that fragile that it will break randomly. Most often it's caused by something the player did at an unfortunate moment. We need to know what you are doing that can consistently reproduce this problem.

You say you cannot dock with the station. Is the game actually preventing you from doing so? E.g. you select mothership, then rightclick on Grid Station. Does the blue docking line not appear? Do you get a message saying anything? When exactly are you attempting to do this, i.e. what is your current quest? What was the last conversation dialog you had, and with whom? This is tied to the previous event with Handers, did you opt to save him or not?

Yes, the game is not letting me dock with the station, I have tried a reload from a previous save, same deal. Yes, I'm getting the blue docking line, yes my mothership moves into docking position at the station, but no dialogs appear nor does a request to dock. I'm on the mission where I have to contact Carl at Grid Station in Elio System in order to change my mothership ID from mastiff, to something non-pirate. Last conversation was between pirates and traders in the system prior to entering Elio system. I killed the pirates and saved both transports.

Hmm, that's strange. When you jump into Elio the traders should be waiting for you right near the portal and you should receive a quest to escort them to the mine. You didn't get that part? Can you try reloading to somewhere before you save the traders and try that again?

When you kill all the pirates, there should be a dialog with the traders you just saved. If you didn't get this before, try waiting for them to say anything before jumping through the portal to Elio.

I'll give that a try. No I've never recieved a quest to escort them. Will let you know the results. Cheers.

Okay. After about 3 reloads, I finally got the escort quest to trigger, doing it now.

No problem. Strange why it didn't trigger before though, as far as I know the traders don't move until you've killed all the pirates.
