I haven't played in a while, has anything happened, new patch, new giftbag, does Horseman's weapon still stupidly doesn't count as a melee weapon?

I love the horseman.
I just wish there were more types available, I mean how about a 'Black Knight' type of horseman or a red horseman, I mean something to differentiate from the vanilla horseman of KB:TL and KB:AP, I mean, knights have their golden paladin in the sequel, why not horsemen? For the third KB I want a new type(s) of horsemen!
