Default People online annoy me

a recent trend I've noticed are groups of experienced players who group together in one big team. i generally have no problem with this but i would consider myself to be a reasonably experienced player and often find myself left in a team with players who honestly don't know what they are doing.
b-17 snobbery as i call it is a very annoying trend in which if their are sufficient players then an entire team with b-17's will group up and ruin it for the other team. this is why i went off call of duty because it is utterly dominated by the elite players who generally make it hard for others.
I'm not knocking all of them but it just makes the game unbearable.
This probably also contributes to the quiet servers at the moment, nobody wants to play when they know they have no hope of winning, honestly, it really sucks at the moment.
Another thing that boils my blood is Lypmne and Hawkinge on CTA, i'm always stuck with a bunch of fools who can't land on their own bloody airfield before the other team's fighter-bombers get there, then they fly around aimlessly despite victory still being attainable. i hate that map and single airfield maps are simply far superior. far more competitive and tactical.

LOL really? I'm completely the opposite - 2 airfield maps are the only ones enjoyably playable IMO. One airfield = first to land generally wins. Especially if the spawn timer is 5 seconds, which it invariably is.

i guess it depends really, i posted this thread out of pure fury after being repeatedly smashed on that map and of course the people who can't point their plane in the right direction.
But interestingly after posting this a change in tactics and some incredible luck
meant i owned the next couple of matches and unlocked a shiny new spitfire mk XVI. my luck is really strange. but i have had some of the best CTA matches iv'e ever had today.as well as some of the worst

About the B-17 thing... first things first, its a game, which means its meant to be for fun, and some people, like myself, like grouping up in B17's. Its well...realistic. Isn't that what the game is supposed to be?

And if you see someone who cant land or a group of people, well why dont you talk to them and teach them how? Who knows, you may make a new friend and group up in a few B-17's yourself and have fun. Its all about fun, from the people i have played with all say the same thing, its all for fun, know one is really competitive or if they are their good about it. And the group i know and play with are some of the nicest fellows around (i'm actually being serious here) and they are some damn good flyers. So try to have fun and be friendly, talk try to even out teams. Maybe you will start to have fun... not be so competitive.

it's true that some aces do make it especially hard on new players, For a time i myself was guilty of such.
As far as Strike and b17s go; the best bet is just to play in strike whoever has the most b17s will win..... I accepted this some time ago. I'm sure when you have your own b17 you will too.

It happens.. If you fly outside of your group of friends then you can get into trouble, I got bounced by 4 people in a dogfight who were obviously not shooting at each other and were covering each other. I try and avoid dogfights because you can get stung.

The flip side is you can find yourself in a game where you're cycling through targets thinking 'I can't kill him he's a mate' so you opt for the ones you don't know.. When I made the move up to realistic I decided everyone was fair game.. except wookie... don't want to piss him off..

i like playing and don't really care if i lose a few or even half.... i like playing with friends from here but at the same time, don't mind being a target for them too. more than a few lop-sided Strike games, i jumped to the side of the fighters and parked the B17 just because i love to try and shoot B17's down =)

My advice is to never play strike with random people. To have a good, FAIR game of strike you need everybodys cooperation to select a fair range of aircraft for each team. That is the only way it can be fun for both sides. If you join a game full of B-17s on the same side, leave imidiatly as these people are generally morons who care only for winning not a fun, close match. Thats the main problem with strike games, there is no skill involved in bombing. Bigger bombs = WIN. If only the game made the B-17 have to act like a heavy bomber with complex bomb aiming instead of physics defiing dive bombers, it would make the game more skillfull and fair.

P-47 just plain breaks the strike mode altoghther, no way should it have that size bomb that with unlimited ammo destroys any game fairness.

Really strike mode just plain sucks (apart for using it for Team dogfights) the devs messed up bad here.
