Default Undead and Paladin and Tolerance

After playing The Legend, I really liked using the skeleton archers but I was a Paladin. I used the skill Tolerance (I think that was what it was called - I can't remember and I don't have the game installed right now but I do remember it allowed undead and then demons in the army at no penalty to Morale) to be able to have them in my army..however the new game doesn't have that skill...does this mean as a Paladin or any class that you can never have undead in your party without a penalty of low morale unless you have all undead units or units with true believer?

Please tell me I am overlooking something and just didn't see it...thanks

Ben

There is a similar skill called Persuasion that increases the morale of particular races by 1 - the higher the skill the more races are included. Since that may not be enough to negate the undead morale penalty completely, you might also want to look for helpful artifacts, e.g. you get a +1 human morale artifact right at the beginning.

okay...will look for other modifiers...thanks.

Can you tell me, is a +1 morale better than +1 attack...is there a ratio or way to know...for example if I had a +5 attack artifact would it be better to use that then the +1 morale (for humans in this case). In these types of instances I have always just gone into battle and gotten raw damage numbers and compared with different setups however this is definitely time consuming. Is there and easier way to figure it out?

Morale usually outweighs attack points. Positive morale improves both attack and defense with a certain percentage (+10/20/30%) as well as the crit rate (up to 140%).

So in general, the higher atk/def values a unit has, the more it gains from morale. Units of lvl 1-2 usually gain more from +atk items than + morale, because the improvement won't be that big (10% out of 4 unit attack isn't much).

DG is exactly correct. 2 Morale black dragons gain 14 attack and defense. 2 Morale fairies gain .6 attack and defense.

Level 1 Persuasion gives + 1 Morale to humans
The portrait artifact you start the game with gives +1 morale to Humans
Royal Griffons give +1 morale to Humans (but have -2 morale around dragons).
Army Drums give +1 Morale to Humans
Completed Inquisitor set gives +3 morale to humans (Amongst other things)

Just a few off the top of my head.
