Default MoW and RT very laggy performance

Hello everyone,
as the topic says, I'm having extremely bad performance during larger battles in MoW. I've tried lowering all the options to minimum, but it doesn't make much of a difference. My PC specs are:
geforce gtx260, AMD phenom II X3 720 - 2,8ghz 3core, 4GB memory.

So I guess it should run smooth, shouldn't it? As I can run Call of Duty modern warfare 2 for example on highest details smoothly...

Any suggestions?

Thank you very much.

I don't think your hardware is the issue. I have seen much weaker systems play MOW well. It doesn't require as powerful of a graphics sub-system as some games. Too many background processes? You could try Alacity or Iobit Game Booster (both free) to see if it improves your performance.

Well, I tried the Game Booster, but with no difference at all.
When I have just few soldiers, it's smooth. But once more and more enemies appear, fps drops down to 17-20 and if something explodes it goes to 11 or so.... Is it supposed to be so or not?

Sorry to hear that my suggestion didn't help. I continue to believe that the problem isn't your hardware. I have an E8400 CPU with a Nvidia 8800 GT graphics card. I am able to play MOW with every graphics setting maxed out on a 24 inch monitor set at a 1920 by 1200 resolution. Your system is more powerful so I'm not sure what the problem is. Maybe someone else will help.

Thanks for the effort anyway. Well I'd really love to see the game go smooth I have it on max settings, but if I lower it it doesn't improve the performance so I play it on highest anyway...

Maybe your system is overpowered. Just a thought.

Perhaps there is an issue with your AMD CPU versus Intel CPUs. If the game slows down with many units, then this is a CPU issue, not a GPU issue. I also am having no problems with my Intel Q6600 (@2.4GHz) + NVIDIA 8800GT or ATI Radeon 5850 system. But I recall that a few years ago some people had problems with some games ruining on multi-core CPUs and they needed to change the affinity in order to play properly. Perhaps the problem is with AMDs triple core. Can you run MoW on just two cores? Also check into any BIOS updates or updates for your MB's chipset.
