Indulge a nube's question about the patches
I've been reading here extensively. Can someone briefly explain which patches I need to download to play 1946 properly?
From what I have been able to gather, I need the "4.08" and "4.09" patches. Is that true? What do they fix?

They do not exclusively fix stuff, they add content.

You don't HAVE to have any patches. 1946 DVD out of the box will fly fine. But, if you want all the latest official content (new aircraft, maps etc.) and some fixes to some issues, then yes, you need the patches.
The 1946 DVD version is 4.07. You first need to patch to 4.08, then to 4.09. You can't leapfrog 4.08. Cheers PPanPan
