Default Trouble taking screenshots

Hi all,

Embarrassed to ask this, but i'm new. I've been attempting to take screenshots using the Print Screen button, but they come out as only a black box. What's the proper way to take a screen shot for this sim?

The pictures are saved in .tag format, which simple windows viewers can't open it.
Have you tried opening the images with photoshop?

I have tried photoshop. Essentially opening the program and using the paste option. Same results.

IrFanView doesn't work either. Here is an example of the results I get. It is a blank pick with a cursor and some menu bar symboligy. I'm using VISTA. What is blocking my screen shots?

Default See if this helps

Close IL-2. Delete all your .tag screenshots. Then run IL-2

Try to capture 3 screen shots, then pause the game and go to the Il-2 directory and grab them immediately (and move them elsewhere, say your desktop), then open them up with irfanview.

If that works for you . . . and you can view them . . .

It might be that IL-2 can only capture a certain amount of screenshots and for some reason once you break the limit they all get like that.

I was having that issue, I'd do a grip of captures, and all my screenies were black.

Then I kept grabbing them as I made them . . . and in sets of 4 they showed up.

And I had used print scrn button as a IL-2 command, for . . . prev stage super charger . . . and my ch button was mapped to that key . . . I made it so the print scrn, scroll lock keys were kept unused . . .

I have the same issue with vista, you can bypass that by using fraps to take your screenshots.

Are you running the game in full-screen-mode? Clean IL2?

I was using Vista over a year now and I never had a problem making screenshots.

That picture below looks a lot as like you pressed CTRL-Printscreen instead of Printscreen alone.

Hiro called it right. You can't go direct from print screen to paste. You must go to the il2 directory and open the screenshot. Seems to only allow younto capture four at a time.

I haven't tried FRAPS yet. Thanks for the help, all.
