I got my Hotas X.
Everything works except the throttle is offset and I can only get 72% throttle. Tried looking around the menus for a setting to chnage but nothing seems obvious. Tried turning system off/on with throttle exactly in the dead spot. but still nothing. No help on Thrustmaster web site. I do not want to take it apart to adjust any pots unless I absolutely have to. Anyone have this problem. Any serious help would be appreciated. ![]() |

After playing around with it I realise it's the huge deadzone in the middle of the throttle that is causing the problem. I am going to try it on my PC to see if it is the same there or is it like the joystick problem. Anton is the throttle deadzone going to be fixed in the update or is my problem just with my throttle?

So I guess we will have to live with it. Alternative tips for a fix of your throttle: -Adjust mecanically the position of the pot relative to the throttle handle. -Adjust the pot value by connecting a 100k (in that ballpark) resistor between the centre tap and the 2V tap of the pot. Here is the link to my more comprehensive controller fix/mod for reference: http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=10528 Good luck ![]() |

I installed the Hotas X on my PC with Vista and IL-2 - 1946. The joystick calibrated to remove the offset and it worked like a charm. So if the developers can do it for the Joystick portion they can do it for the Throttle portion. Or am I wasting my breath.

There is no calibration of input in the X360 at all. They depend on the deadzone to counter for any offset in the input signal.
I think it is wasted time to wait for MS to fix this. It should be fairly easy to make a small HW mod yourself. I will gladly give hints and advice if you post some sharp images of the inside of the throttle. |

I've been an IL-2 supporter/fan since 2002 when it was first released and have bought all the add-on's etc since then.
I decided to try the "console version" when I saw the beautiful graphics etc - this I did (trying the demo out at a mate's home) and realised that unless one could get a PS#-compatible joystick, it just wasn't on - flying an aircraft with the gamepad controller just wasn't for me! Anyway, I researched the matter, found out that one could get such a joystick and bought the game, the joystick (Thrustmaster HOTAS) and PS3 ... only to find out that the joystick has this colossal deadzone on the throttle control!!! An appeal to the developers - I understand that this is a "game" (not a joystick) issue - if it is, please, please fix this problem. |

We never told anyone, that deadzones will be tweakable on PS3 - so no false promises. ------------- I can confirm that this is true from my studies of the X360 controller. The same deadzone is inherent in the original gamepad, but is not som noticeable du to short sticks, with small working area. The probable purpose is avoidance of calibration. So please dont blame this on 1C. |

For anyone who is interested, I am using the Ace Combat 6 Limited Edition box controller and throttle controller, and they work fine, with full throttle, excellent rudder control, and even a brake! (Apparently, some flight controllers don't allow stopping?).
Have had no problems at all. The gunsight in bomber-gunner mode is a bit weird, but I am working on getting used to it. Sounds like it sucks no matter what. They look like this: ![]() |
