Installed the patch, started the game-took ages to load and was slightly stuttery with obvious patches of very low resolution scenery.

Disappointed, then....doh...forgot the usual hacks! Deleted cache and renamed the ubi logo (I have a 7850) and reloaded...

Very quick load times, stutters almost totally gone and graphics smooth and high resolution, luvverly! Well done devs, have an 8.5/10 from me! You have just sold one copy of BOM.

Thank you luthier and the 1C team. A quick comparison between the last official patch and this one shows an approximate 40% improvement in average frame rates – great job! Looking forward to the sequel

thank you very much sirs.
Just delete the contents of the cache folder in /My Documents/1C Soft Club/il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover/

I mean go into the cache folder, highlight all files and the subfolder and delete them. This removes any possibility if leftover files that might clash with the update files. Then start the game and it will update automatically through Steam. The first loading of the game will take a minute or two as it rebuilds a clean cache.

If you experience any problems in CoD, clear the cache again and re-validate the files in Steam.

A sad and bitter pill to swallow. By this stage I had hoped they would have opened the game up to 3rd party designers to fill in the obvious blanks.
Lack of ships etc in Cliffs.
I cannot see BoM being any different to be honest. The title suggests they will avoid the Crimea like the plague. It was at this stage in the old IL2 development that they let 3rd party developers in.
I pray they do the same now.
Let's be honest, the Battle for Moscow will have to simulate a large portion of the ground war. And with fly through trees that is just plain not going to work.
If they do not fix that they can forget BoM being a commercial success.
But maybe i am just negative?
On a brighter note it is the game now that I expected to get when it was released a year ago.
Let's hope we will see a team dalious for Clod soon
Kudo's to the team for getting it this far.

Restart steam. If that doesn't force a download, verify the game files in steam.

I think that the official sequel announcement hasn't come out yet and things b6 and luthier have said make it sound like it is not 100% that it will be Moscow, just that it is in the Eastern Front.

Edit: My opinion- The game engine has been fixed to the point where I get good performance on my aging PC (Only a E8400 dual core and DDR2) and get an average of 60fps at altitude (compared to about 35 in MoW:AS). I will see what the sequel is and will almost certainly buy it on release, depending on pricing etc.

I'm surprised at all of the positivity in this post, and pleasantly so.

Good job, guys!
