Still plenty of time before monday ends (a quick calculation)
First, I'll point out that this whole Monday update stems from an off hand remark by Nike-it (ie. isn't official) and was really more of a "mondayish kind of thing" instead of a fixed date.
We also won't take into account latitude because it could get very confusing and I don't have good seasonal data (if anyone has it we can calculate dawn at sea level - although to be really accurate we would need weather data to quantify atmospheric lensing).
Now the interesting part:
- Jewish calenders and those of a large number of people's believe that the day actually changes at dawn (instead of midnight). I think this makes a hell of a lot more sense, so will go with it.
- It will still be September 1st 2008 at the "International date line" (180 degrees lon.) twelve hours after it passes in Greenwich.
We can therefore conclude that Oleg has an extra 21 hours...
(ie. It will still be Sept. 1st until 2100 hours Sept 2nd GMT)
