Very strange how Luthiers fans take such offence at the statements he has made.

I haven't been able to force anything more than what looks like 2XAA either.

Would be good if they had someone on hand who could implement that new kind of anti-aliasing nVidia have developed, as mentioned here - http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=24658

From what I've read about the way game developers can choose to use it, it looks like it could be a solution to the shimmering that's always been a problem for long-distance landscape views, as well as a more fps friendly way of doing AA in general.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"...Before that i think Oleg had said COD uses a "special" in game version of FSAA that nobody had used before..." - Furbs.

I don't remember hearing about that, just about them meeting with nVidia representatives once for some unspecified reason, way back when. Would be funny if it's the same thing I referred to above, but they haven't got it working properly or it's limited somehow. The fact that AA can't be forced by the usual methods suggests to me there might be something different going on, if it's not just broken because of their other DirectX Full-Screen problems, or for some other reason.

Do you mind if I ask your age?
Just quoting the great man, why are you getting all 'wet' about that?

hes bringing something equally as important as you are to the table, i admire his persistance, he must really really want this game to work, if you could help him you would have, and then he would be playing not "whining", but as it stands, not many are playing.

as people keep paying for their copy's and get a bugfest in exchange, with almost 0 support from devs, people will keep going mad, and i remember that luthier's statement that tree has quoted.

Actually the ingame MSAA is working...but just on parts of the picture. Last time I checked it works very nice on all polygon edges (like the boundary between plane and sky) but not on any of the wires and lines where it is most obvious. I didn't check different levels of MSAA though.

Seriously though, has far as im aware Luthier as not mentioned anything about fixing FSAA, he's not acknowleged its broken.
When myself and others were asking during development why he kept showing screen shots with no FSAA on he avoided answering, eventually he said it was because his PC was not powerful enough, I offered to build him one free of charge (you may remember) anyhow, it seems this was another one of Luthiers little jokes that we enjoy so much because as it turns out FSAA didn't work and never as.

Sorry, but it doesn't work. At least not more than the very basic 2x FSAA. It's very obvious on polygon edges as well. I've spent lots of time trying to get it to work, taking screenshots, comparing, and it does not work. And I haven't seen a single screenshot so far that shows otherwise.
