Suspect the system will be similar to il2 in this regard.
Probably will only be one (or maybe a few) generic marking styles - which will unavoidably mean that the more unusual squadron coding styles look off when rendered in the in-game system. The solution will probably be same as for il2 - skinners will create full sets of skins with markings for those squadrons. |

![]() Hawker Hurricane Mk. I P3144, GZ.B, 32(F) Squadron. Synopsis This Gloster-built Hurricane (Contract Number 962371/38/C.23a) was delivered to the 11 Group, being received by No 32 Sqn at Biggin Hill on July 12th 1940. It lasted only eight days in frontline, being shot down over Dover by Unteroffizier Mayer of III/JG51 (Bf 109E) on the afternoon of July 19th. The Hurricane's pilot, Flt Sgt Guy Turner, baled out with severe burns. The aircraft had accumulated 8 hrs and 15 mins flying time when it was lost in combat. Camouflage This Hurricane wore the 'B' pattern of the Temperate Land Scheme consisting of dark earth and dark green uppersurfaces. The undersides were painted BS381 (1930) Eau-de-Nil overall. The propeller spinner was in night. Serials & Codes It wore 40-inch high medium sea grey 'GZ.B' codes, the largest used on Hurricanes and the nearest to the official size* . The fuselage serials were 8 inches high and night. * Rmk: The Squadron code letters varied somewhat in size, but those of 30-inches were commonly used. The official requirement was for code letters of 48-inches, but where space was insufficient smaller sizes were permitted Roundels & Flash 35-inch diameter pre-war coloured bright red, white, bright blue and yellow fuselage roundels. The upperwing red and blue roundels were 49 inches in diameter. No underwing roundels were applied. The fin flash consisted of 7-inch wide bright red, white and bright blue bands. ![]() Profiles by Mark Styling http://www.markstyling.com/hurricanemk1s_1.htm ... That's excellent, Rodolphe! Cheers
![]() Zorin, I think you're right. BoB2 generates, as far as I can see, the camoflauge scheme seperately (via a text document), and then via a similar method you can choose the different spinner colours, and then the different roundel and underwing patterns by date. I think the same is true for each A/C in the squadron. You can change the various lines in the documents so that all the A/C in a squadron could have the same code letters, or that all the RAF A/C in the game could use the exact same camo schemes. This would lower load-times considerably. It's a useful system for getting skins which are perfectly accurate, but it does increase load times. Having said this, I've never found that it impacts too much on fps... ![]() |
