- Maybe becouse of that, fps down drastically and much stutters near towns.

Nothin of that ocurred before (with nsaoo mod or previous patch).

Specs:
Intel core 2 quad 8400 2.66
4GB RAM
GTS 250

Same problem for me.

Very good improvement over previous version. Stutering almost gone, but radio still broken.

tested the quickmission over france, and over the city nearest to starting position...

from being able to run evrything on max and have around 18-20 fps or higher in worst case, but often around 30-ish even over cities with many planes

i now have 5-6 fps (max, over cities) on medium settings and i wasnt even flying low and only 1 aircraft in the world!!!.. all furter testing halted.. its completly unplayable atm

radeon 6950 2gb

***

UPDATE: for some reason, i tried another quick mission, and well.. seem fps was back to normal, or even higher suddenly then prior to patch..

but then another mission and it was very very slow again.. but not as bad as 5-6 fps.. restart game and fps good again *puzzled*

sorry if this is a stupid question, but should we reset customised settings such as "processaffinitymask" etc in documents back to defaults before using this patch? I only ask as the patch addresses some cpu issues and wondered if they could conflict..

Woohoo! Nice improvement - it seems that the multi-threading has made the biggest difference (cores are ~ 75%/50%/20%/15% in Task manager). Changing texture quality from medium to low and SSAO on/off seems to make no noticible difference to either visuals or fps. No noticible jitters either - frame rate seems a lot more constant. Also, no more black lines over the ocean without forcing AF in CCC.

Sorry, no time for any more comments now - I've had to scramble coz there's some Stukas coming in over the channel. Tally-ho!

I've been testing running a fairly hefty mission (~ 100 aircraft) set at high altitude getting FPS 16-80 depending on view, with these settings, :
1920x1200x32 @60hz; all 'high', plus 'roads' 'trees' etc; original textures setting; 4xAA, SSAO, ep (off), unlimited buildings.

While FPS seems better, and stuttering is reduced, I've had two crashes of Launcher.exe since this new patch, both times when changing to an external view of a different plane group - there seems to be a very brief pause when it gets to the external view on an aircraft as its loading in the land detail in tiles (it looked at first as though it was over the sea, then tiles of land detail appeared, as it was high altitude there was a fair area of map to 'fill in') - just before it crashed.

I've noticed more delay in loading in land textures since this patch. The crashes are well into the mission, say 10 -20 minutes of play and external view swapping looks to be the trigger.

Also, a few small bugs that were present before and remain:
- the position setting of the volume slider for Voice (in Options>Audio) does not get saved, it always reverts at next play to 50% position;
- if you are leading a fighter group and you get damaged ((i.e. youre finished!) and start to plummet to the ground the rest of your group follows you down trying to keep with you, until at a very low altitude when they will break off to prevent hitting the ground;
- a group will rejoin with you even though theyre out of ammo, would/should they head back to base, or is it up to you as leader to tell them (not always obvious theyve no ammo left unless you catch their message 'i'm out') ?

I like the new fireball explosion btw, sometimes when a plane's fuel goes up
