The sounds from the in game vid may be "supposed" to replicate reality but there's no chance in hell they sound realistic in combination with eachother. Apart from some of the frequencies that are plain missing.

A leather "helmet" with a couple of bakelite/metal cups on it, using WW2 tech, does not take away frequencies and sounds all together or have the same effect as putting your hands over your ears. Not even my modern Peltors does that.

I am not saying that they had " sound protection values" but they certainely had a big damping effect...Hard to mesure actually...and as with my exemple, it depends on "how" you put your hands over your ears...
All I am saying is we all deal with perceptions and concept here...The same goes for the "tracer" debate , and terrain color debate, and so on...
We have to wait for "final "() release to judge things...

Salute !

As for the Hurricane vid, the engine/prop sounds in there are plain wrong, missing or at the very best misplaced. Doesn't matter how muffled you can get and AFAIK that vid IS from a released Russian game. As for my perception, I think I know a thing or two about engines running with open stacks/headers. If some layman wants to say that they "percieve" that Hurricanes engine sounds to be realistic, be my guest, but don't expect me to back you up on that.

They have nailed the noise much better in the Heinkel and Blenheim vids tough. I can live with those. I'll come back to you on thursday.
