The x4's do not need power from the controler. It has its own power supply.

Since clearly, as anyone can tell from my post above, I do not have them.

Yeah they have their own batteries, but the 360 headset functionality does indeed need power from the 360.

As I already said... I have several adapters that were bundled with my Rock Band controllers.

It was the first thing I tried. It doesn't work.

Did you look at the little puck, like I said? If you did, then you would have seen that there are indeed little metal contacts on there.

Do you have a multimeter?

I do.

I checked those points in the jack on the controller, and there is about 2.5 volts there.

The X4's headset works flawlessly with my custom made adapter, where as they don't work at all with a standard adapter. The ONLY difference being the power supplied.

Sorry about the tone of my post earlier. I was just reading it, and I was really coming off like a jackass.

Lack of food, and a generally frustrating day apparently lead to wonderful netiquette.

Anyway...

The adapter I made was made possible by the fact that I had a controller that was already gutted, and was able to take (desolder) the puck style headset jack from.

The general idea is that you just want to get 2.5v of power to the puck on the X4's. What I did was "mount" (Hot glued it into a rough cut out) the puck jack from the 360 controller onto one side of a project box, and mounted a standard 2.5mm stereo jack from Radio Shack to the other side. Inside the box I wired the 2.5mm jacks together, and on then wired a 2xAAA battery pack to the power leads on the puck jack.
