It's difficult to picture at first but keep looking at the illustrations and you will pick up what it looks like in game. You will see patterns form and recognize what's happening.
Keep in mind simple concepts like "out of plane" and "in plane" manuevering. Other concepts that will really help are positioning. Advantage goes to the higher Altitude airplane. Dont pick a fight if he's higher than you.
