Default Castle Bogacho

I'm having a strange problem where I am unable to complete the quest "Treaty with the Dwarves". Before I ever talked to the King of the Dwarves, I ran through and pretty much cleaned out the mines, including freeing Castle Bogacho. I can talk to him, he thanks me for saving him, and I can use his synthesizer thing to create runes. Unfortunately, when I eventually got around to talking to the King, he asked me to save his son and free Castle Bogacho. Now, my quest is stuck at that part. I've tried talking to both Tibold and the King multiple times, tried every dialogue option, and the quest still won't update. I've reloaded multiple times and tried everything again, still nothing.

I'm using the Steam version, by the way. Am I totally screwed or is there some fix for this?

Also, I read somewhere that you're supposed to acquire the Reaper after freeing Bogacho. I have indeed Not acquired the Reaper. He did say something about the hourglass being near, but nothing since then. I thought it was kind of weird I didn't have him yet...I didn't remember where precisely you got him, but I knew I should have him by now.

I hope I don't have to start over.....
