Default Ace Edge stick mod with pictures. This has made it much better.

The only gripe I have with the Ace Edge stick is that its very hard to look around smoothing because the little stick is so slippery and short. So I took a suction cup I had from some other peripheral I don't use any more, dremeled out a little concave area that fits snugly on the stick and applied it with contact cement. Tried it out and now its 100 times easier and much smoother to move your head in the game, its like night and day and I can do it now while banking hard, where I could not do that before.

Now the suction cup grips my finger without a lot of pressure at all. If you get a chance do this mod. Its practically free.

Oh this is important, make sure to angle the suction cup towards you, that way it is almost facing you. Makes movement much easier. If you angle it so its facing up it actually makes it harder to sit your thumb in the cup. You can see in the pics the correct angle. Enjoy.

Here are a couple of pics.

Nice work. I love seeing homemade joystick mods. Gives plenty of ideas.

I did the same mod using one these neoprene faucet washers.

I used a properly shaped counter sink bit on a drill, sanded everything smooth then stuck it on the coolie hat with some stickie putty.
This makes it much easier to click down plus you can look around smoothly by just sliding your thumbnail under the washer, where it has a tapered cone shape and sweep in an arch.

That is a great idea. I'll do that when I get an Ace Edge.
