Sorry I can not say the variant. I only know it was a bomber and was shot down in Russia. The father of a friend in Germany flew in it as a Radioman, bailed and survived, badly hurt. These are the only data he can remember

As far as I know, LV shoud be the Unit Code and 3U the Staffel code and the number of plane in that Staffel.

Or may be the code is reversed, then 3U+LV, is the right one. In this case, would "V" for Staffel, and "L" for plane in the Staffel, be correct according to the Luftwaffe Standard Codes?

Thank you for your kind help.

Its possible to be one of the C-6s that were used in Russia as train busters and long range fighters.

Many thanks
If the unit designation is correct !!

What is your source for this code please ?

Hello, Alpha, my only one source are the comments of my friend about his father's WWII experience. He says he flew a WWII with these markings (he has made even a plastic model with them), was shot down in the East Front (not specifying the area) and lost a leg after bailing.

I know these were very few evidences but I thought the code was a good one, but now I see that it could be wrong. Just, for instance being 3U+LV instead.

His father is now >90 years old and is not in position of giving more info, unfortunately. Just we wanted to make a nice picture with a screenshot of this plane using IL-2 skinning facilities.

Anyway, many thanks to everybody for the help.
